| Mandan Pipe Bag Wool cloth, elk skin on bottom, and glass beads. Cloth pipe bags are rare and very early in date (usually pre-1840). Only red or dark blue are found. Wool cloth was an expensive trade good (from an Indian's point of view). Everyone and anyone had buckskin, but cloth was a sign of wealth and prestige.
